Handwoven rattan on solid mango wood. The weave is set into door frames made from mango, so the tension is held by solid wood rather than a composite surround. Rattan expands and contracts with humidity differently from solid wood — a well-framed panel accommodates that movement. An ill-framed one buckles or loosens within a few seasons of Indian weather. At 178 cm wide and 75 cm tall (70" x 29.5"), this is a large-format piece built for dining rooms or living room walls with a natural, warm aesthetic.
